Ffty year-old conman, Lin, pretends to be a successful entrepreneur. Since the year before last in January, he started going around Taipei, New Taipei City, and Tao Yuan City pretending to be a parent picking up a child from a cram school or shopping at a store. Then he would always use the opportunity to chat with the staff at the school or store.
But after a while he would leave the premises and then come back in to tell a sob story of how his car had been towed and that his wallet had been in the car.

The staff would always fall for his story and lend him money for taxi because of the way Lin was dressed--he wore golf polo shirts and bragged about his golf skills. Lin even went to the extent of telling people how he knew Tseng Yani.
Many only found out they have been conned after they realized that the telephone number and address Lin left them were false. Few of the victims reported this to the media and provided CCTV footage; they also created Facebook pages to help the public identify this guy.
Lin's son, who is already a grown man, had recognized his father at the first glance, and could not stand his behavior any longer. When he saw the news footage, he picked up the phone and informed the police of everything he knew.
